Whether it’s the Central Business District or Market Square Park, Houston is a mega for the cultural arts and exciting scenic backdrops. With an array of sports, cultural and business events going on, the energy of downtown Houston is dynamic and entertaining. It’s hard not to get swept up with the fun! Rachel and Marcus expressed to us that they wanted to capture the feelings of when they first met at Boomtown Coffee Shop. We also found another area close by that was intimate to match the couple’s special love connection.

Please note that if you are shooting a session on the weekend, it can be extremely busy. You definitely want to schedule your meeting times for early in the morning, in order to avoid traffic and parking backups.

This bride-to-be made excellent choices from styling her hair and outfit selection. Having a little fun with long curly tresses with honey blonde highlights is a top trend. Rachel’s blue silhouette dress with detailed ruffle sleeves added a dramatic flair to her look.

The couple’s color choices complimented each other nicely, as Marcus sported a navy blue vest and trousers. His printed burgundy tie added to perfect splash of color. For men, wearing layers of clothes, like a vest, blazer, scarf or hat is a great way to experiment with colors for the camera. Also, we can snap so many different looks by simply removing articles of clothing.

A final tip for the brides that parking their cars downtown, please leave your purse and personal belongings in the trunk. That includes your cell phone, if you choose to leave it in your vehicle. Please stow everything safely in your car. From our experiences, Downtown Houston is fun and super safe. However, making yourself less of a target is smart.
