I met Landon nearly three years ago at the first football game of the season for our Junior High School. Landon and I both teach and coach the same school. Landon and his newly wedded wife were super excited when it came time to shoot their maternity session. We headed out on a Saturday in late July in Downtown Houston. Downtown Houston Maternity Photos can be very unique as the city offers a variety of backdrops. Although we got a little rain earlier in the day, it was a dry evening. With a little overcast, we made the most of the sunset as we captured these wonderful images.
This was my first session at the Wortham Park in downtown Houston. It’s quickly becoming a hotbed for some area photographers and I’ve been waiting over a year to shoot here. However, when we got there it was really quiet and a few passer-byes just stopped by to wish the couple good luck. This park offers some super unique water pillars and I was keen to capture them in a way that I haven’t seen done yet.
Landon and Vanesa were a blast to shoot with. Landon has a very good sense of humor, which always moves a session along smoothly. I got some genuine all out laughing pictures of Vanesa after Landon cracked one of his humorous jokes. The chemistry was evident and it dates all the way back to their time at Oklahoma State University. These collegiate sweethearts are going to make some awesome parents and it was such a treat to be chosen to capture this amazing time in their lives.
Landon and Vanesa will be giving birth to William aka Liam sometime in August. I’ll be shooting his newborn photos and I’m thoroughly looking forward to meeting baby Liam.
