Houston Citadel Engagement Photos -It has been a distinct pleasure to shoot at the Citadel on Kirby on three separate occasions so far. I have to admit that it never disappoints. At the entrance of this venue is a breathtaking water wall. Also, the Citadel boasts pure decadence with an interior that has rich, Italian marble floors and naturally-lit ball rooms with 16 foot doors.
The couple was very easy to work with as the bride-to-be knew exactly how she wanted to capture her engagement shoot. Let’s talk about the dress which was a bold marigold color that was beautiful for the camera. With a pleated V-neck and flowy fabric from the empire waist, she truly resembled a Greek goddess with a touch of airiness. Derrion was not to be outdone with an ocean blue suit that also packed a visual punch. His look gave an unmistakable edge that was also bold. Together, this duo made a complimentary elegant statement.
Jerrika wanted to add greenery to the session, so we headed to a downtown library for the ivy wall. Selecting a photo shoot at a library can be equally exquisite with venues that come complete with built-in character and historical intrigue. Finally, we finished on a roof top overlooking the scenic Houston downtown skyline. Houston is very proud of its world-renown architecture that includes a diverse mix of post-modern, art deco and Italian renaissance. Sometimes choosing three locations can really make for some diversity in your shoot, but be prepared to spend a lot of time with me. Not that spending time with me is a bad thing! I promise to make it fun!
