As a wedding photographer you know that every customer is not your customer, and growing with that realization is easy the longer you stay in business. Along the way you learn to cope with it and realize that some clients are a better fit for others and ultimately you just want to see every couple happy. However, since I met Shaneka, I knew I wanted to be the person that captured her on her wedding day because she had such an aura about herself. However, the more I began to know her, the more I realized that it would be such a conflict of interest if I was the one photographing her on her wedding day, because I wanted that to be my wedding day too. If you haven’t put the pieces to the puzzle together than realize that Shaneka is my bride, she’s my wife, she’s the person that I’ll spend my forevers with.
I couldn’t photograph her on our wedding day, (I was way too nervous to hold a camera steady anywho), I decided to take her out for a bridal session two days after our wedding. We started our morning getting her make-up done at Color Du Jour, and I must say, Alaina Knox-Saulsberry is truly talented. Then we set off for the boardwalks of Kemah Texas followed by the graffiti walls downtown and a relaxing visit back to the place where our magic first happened at Tuscany Villa.
I would love to wax poetically about my bride, but these pictures should do all my heavy lifting.
Shaneka, Love is You!
PS- No black and white images, because she only wants color. =)
Love them all!!
