Los Angeles Engagement Session – Destination engagement sessions are a popular growing trend. We love traveling with couples to observe them away from their ordinary lives and capture this wonderful celebration. This is also an opportunity for us to work with different color pallets. Especially, if the couple chooses a place that is brand new or sparks a favorite memory. For Christian and Jonathan, we traveled to Los Angeles and our first stop was at a highway overpass overlooking downtown. Ironically, this is where the couple initially met when Jonathan helped Christian, when she was stranded on the side of the road.
Who said that chivalry does not exist?!?
Our second location was at the Walt Disney concert hall that is home to architecture that is unmatched. Designed by Frank Gehry and considered to be an architectural masterpiece, the concert hall was completed in 2003. The Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles Master Chorale perform there where the acoustics are superior. The experience was full of fun and laughter as he twirled her in a lovely fashion. Other times, the couple was regal and opulent as we captured some demure poses. The soon-to-be bride wore a strapless velvet ruffle gown with a train and slit. This look was very elegant and mature, which was perfectly paired with black open toe high heels. And her fiancé was dressed in a black embroidered tunic shirt with pants that was sophisticated in a subtle way that incorporated into theme of the experience.
We finished the session in Pasadena, which sits down at the base of the towering San Gabriel Mountains. Pasadena, which is 10 miles north of Downtown Los Angeles, is an architectural gem with museums, stylish shopping districts and a sculpture garden. The photo shoot was a blast, and we can’t wait to hit another destination.
