As a former Floridian I must say that I definitely took the beaches for granted. During my bi-annual visits to Florida I always find myself flocking to the beaches, the water is always as blue as the sky. The sand is the prettiest white tan that you can imagine, from Destin to Pensacola Beach to The Perdido Key, one cannot get enough of what these beaches have to offer in terms of aesthetics.
Catherine, a model and a fitness contestant accompanied this trip to the Pensacola beach, and it made for a great session. I met Catherine when I first began my teaching career she was an English teacher at the same middle school. She shared a love for poetry like me, and she is quite the artist. When she told me she was going to get back into fitness modeling and competing I was chomping at the bit for an opportunity to take her out for a session. Although, I think of myself as a wedding photojournalist it was good to do some high end fashion type shooting as it could only add to my tools when I take couples out for engagement and bridal sessions.
We set out for a sunrise session, and although it rained for most of the weekend, Mother Nature allowed us a good hour to squeeze a mini-session in. You’ll see in the last images that the rain started and she was such a trooper as we ran to the car as heavy rainfall forced us to end the session a few minutes early. Nonetheless, it was a great experience and I can’t wait to shoot in Pensacola again next year for a wedding on the beach with another teacher I used to teach with in Pensacola.
