Pleasure Pier Engagement Photos | Katherine & Aaron

It was a beautiful summer day in early August when we set out for Galveston. I have never shot there before so it was quite the experience to take in and I was thoroughly impressed by the backdrop that Galveston can provide. Although these weren’t like the sandy shores of Destin, Florida, where I’ve done engagement and maternity sessions in the past, it was very scenic. As the sun was setting we set out to capture the golden hour in Galveston’s Strand District and the Pleasure Pier. Using the Pleasure Pier as a backdrop for Engagement Photos is a definite winner.

I met Aaron & Katherine through a referral from a friend. They met a few years ago in their church in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Aaron graduated from Oklahoma State University as an Engineer major. Katherine is finishing up her degree at Oklahoma State University as well. She’s an aspiring veterinarian while Aaron is working as a Chemical Engineer here in Houston. Their whirlwind of love will bring them to Houston after their wedding.

Aaron and Katherine share a unique chemistry. They shared laughs as Aaron whispered sweet nothings in her ear. Katherine owns the best squirt gun aim as she beat him in the squirt gun game! Katherine sneaks in to grab a big bite of his pretzel for one of the funniest images of the session. Katherine & Aaron wanted to have a session that would feature them interacting naturally. A long walk on the beach after spending the last of the daylight on the Pier was a perfect way to end the night.

They will get married in Oklahoma in the church they met later next year. I thoroughly look forward to traveling to the Sooner-State to capture their love story.
