Puerto Rico Destination Wedding – Family! Every wedding boils down to family. To sum up every wedding I have had the privilege to shoot over the life of our business is the highlights of two families becoming one. It is not often that after a wedding you feel like you’ve become a part of the family as well. However, with Juvie and Louis that’s exactly the word that comes to mind when I think of their union and our relationship. Over the course of the year that we’ve been jointly planning their wedding, Juvie, Louis and I have blurred the lines of client and photographer. They are my family and I am so happy that they chose me to be a part of their special day.
What a special day it was. Puerto Rico was everything we imagined and more it was easily one of the most eventful weddings that we shot to date. We started the day before with a one on one session with Juvie and Louis and it was utterly amazing, please see the images here. We all enjoyed the festivities at La Concha Resort Who would have thought a trip to Champs Sports Bar watching the Lakers and the Celtics play in the NBA Finals would’ve brought us all here?
This couple is used to traveling! We did their epic travel themed engagement session at the Air Terminal Museum earlier in the year. Here’s a few words from Juvie about their engagement and how he proposed.
“He had a special Valentine’s Staycation planned for us that included dinner at Ra Sushi and a special night at Hotel Sorella. Actual Valentine’s Day was fun and Louis had plans to propose to me that night that I thwarted. Knowing that I hate paying for expensive water and snacks at a hotel, he suggested going to the store. Because we had scored free parking and it was a very busy weekend at City Center, I refused to go, as we would risk having to pay for parking later. LOL! The next day, we drove around town and ended up at the West Houston Airport. We watched private planes land and takeoff, hoping to see a famous person (no luck!). We left and drove around town some more…only to end up back at the airport because Louis allegedly forgot something there. When we arrived he pulled me to the little park and proposed to me. Of course, I said, “YES!”
Great couple! Great wedding! Beautiful union! From the first time we met at a bridal show, we were destined to become family! I’m so happy that Juvie and Louis choose me to document their special day!
