The Importance of Being Published as a Photographer

The importance of being published as a photographer – At a certain stage in your photographic development you make the push to get published. Being a published photographer can grow your brand and truly make you stand out amongst your peers and competition. When presented with the opportunity to shoot as a freelance photographer for Katy Magazine I knew it was an opportunity that I wanted to take advantage of. Currently, I have worked on three issues and my images have been used and published four times.

A few weeks ago I was presented with the opportunity to photograph Steve Crawford & Da’Adra Crawford Greathouse of Anointed and it was a true treat. Steve and Da’Adra are gospel singers at Houston’s Lakewood Church. They have a true anointing on their lives and they are extremely talented. If you are reading this and want some truly good gospel music, take a listen to Steve’s album here. It was such a blast to be around them, and having an opportunity to photograph Steve’s family at the church afterwards was cool. You know that you make a great impression on people when my two son’s was saying goodbye Mr. Steve after the hour and a half session.

As Steve and Da’Adra get set to release their new album (new single “Face to Face”), it was a true joy to spend a few hours with them. They are truly down to earth and have very good sense of humor. To my fellow Ohioans, it was a joy to meet you, and I wish you all the best on your future endeavors and let me be the first to say congratulations on your feature in the Katy Magazine.

As a result of being published for my work commercially, I am also proud to announce that two weddings (Houston Wedding Photographer) that I had the privilege to capture will be featured in publications in July and August respectively.
