The Tuscany Villa Katy Wedding – I am exceedingly excited to document anyone’s wedding because I know how special the day is. It was destiny that Christiana found me through a blog I posted about my wife’s bridals. My wife and I got married at The Tuscany Villa in Katy, Texas. This venue has a special nostalgia and I have to say it’s one of my favorite places to shoot. This is the third installment of their wedding series, you can see the day after here and the traditional Nigerian ceremony here.
This was a love story that started through the friendship of their parents. Christiana and Abayo have such kindred spirits and it is easy to see how well they compliment one another from our initial consultation. Christiana liked how serious Abayo was about life and that they shared no awkward moments together. Abayo like her sense of order, that she was very neat and detailed oriented. He enjoys the balance that she brings to his life and they enjoy cooking together and embarking on new adventures.
When I think of the union of Christiana and Abayo I recall a poem written by Jane Wells entitled “Marriage Advice”. It reads, “let your love be stronger than your hate and anger. Learn the wisdom of compromise, for it is better to bend a little than to break. Believe the best rather than the worst. People have a way of living up or down to your opinion of them. Remember that true friendship is the bases for any lasting relationship. The person you choose to marry is deserving of the courtesies and kindnesses you bestow on your friends. Please hand this down to your children and your children’s children.” That is the best piece of advice that I can give these two lovebirds. I will happily accept their request to document the welcoming of their first child within a year or so. =)
Thank you for entrusting your day to me, I don’t take the commissioning for granted. Thank you for reading. Ed.
