Here is our Weekend Recap: September 4th-6th! What a weekend. On Friday, I had the pleasure of doing a consultation for a pre-teen photo shoot I did a few weeks back. On Saturday, Daniel (my very good friend and colleague that I shoot with quite often) I captured a yacht wedding on the Kemah Boardwalk with the loving Delano & Carmalita. On Sunday I headed out with a colleague and helped her do a styled photo shoot. I must say that it was truly a wonderful weekend filled with some fantastic image and experiences.
Shooting with Kymbra was fun! I met her and her mom a few years ago. I have worked as her math coach, and when she was turning eleven and mom asked me to photograph her, I felt honored. We set out for the Discovery Green in downtown Houston and it was stunningly beautiful with some soft light. As for the consultation, mom ended up getting an album and possibly two 24×36 canvasses. It’ll be an honor to see my work on her wall, as their home has BEAUTIFUL DÉCOR. Here’s a few highlights from the session.
Here’s Kymbra’s birthday gift. It’s a matching ring and bracelet for her birth stone. Such a cool gift and she adores it!
Shooting Delano & Carmalita wedding was such a blast. Every chance that I can work with Daniel it’s a good thing as I can genuinely trust him shooting elements of the wedding and I know they’ll compliment my style. When I shoot with him, I try to shoot in that same manner. I attempt to stress the importance of having a second shooter for your weddings as it gives you opportunity to capture a wedding in such a great fashion. I included a few of Daniel’s shots in this post just to show how having a second set of eyes and a different perspective can give you some added jewels. Full blog will come later! =)
After getting in from Saturday’s wedding at 1:00AM in the morning and not making it to bed until 3:44AM as a result of drinking monster energy drink; I knew getting up at 7:45AM would be tough. However, when a colleague calls and ask you to help out, you want to be there. Tomayia and I share a love for teaching as well as a love for photography. We’ll shoot our first wedding together in October and I can’t wait to see how we flow together. She helped designed a styled shoot filled with 3 models, a Rolls Royce, Multi layered cake, a complete garden’s worth of flowers, eight luxury dresses and all the décor that one style shoot could handled. Here’s a few jewels from this session enjoy.
