It was a humid Sunday in June when we set out for Downtown Houston, Texas. Love was in there air and it was so hard to keep these lovebirds from singing sweet nothings. Shawna & Shawn, (they sound like a couple that is meant to be right?) showed their love constantly. I met Shawna at a bridal show near Galveston earlier this year. They have the GREATEST theme in the history of weddings; they are going to get married at the Texas Renaissance festival.
Shawn & Shawna met in high school at Sam Houston. They built a long lasting friendship first, and after some years of dating are going to tie the knot. Shawn owns a small business and Shawna works in the Dental profession. They are blending families together and they absolutely adore one another.
We set out for the Japanese Gardens inside of Herman Park in downtown Houston. It was a beautiful day for pictures. We finished up in the warehouse district downtown to add some edge to the session. I’ve shot at Herman Park plenty of times, but this was the first time that I had the pleasure of shooting in the Japanese Garden. There were a lot of people out enjoying the weather and what nature had to offer so we all fit right in. I’ve been waiting a long time to shoot near some warehouses again as it offer such an edgier look to a clients complete session.
Typically, you have to tell clients poses, when to kiss and to act natural. Shawna, Shawn and I hit it off quite well and it felt like we were long time friends by session’s end. Shawna and Shawn kissed a record 3,240,456 times during the session, and seeing love displayed like that makes for a unique session.
I could continue to wax poetically about such a wonderful couple, but I shouldn’t keep you from these images any longer. Hats off to the newlyweds and cheers for you and your wedding this Fall.
So pretty!
